Visit to the United Nations (5th to 8th Grades)

The United Nations

~by Joseph Casali

On December 9, 2016, the 5th through 8th grade Hovnanian School students took a trip to the United Nations. Mr. Snedden, Mrs. Anand, Mr. Schneider, and Digin Mesrobian joined us on our trip. We went for the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims
of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime. This was the second annual day, and we witnessed both. The Ambassador of Armenia talked at the main table of Genocide victims and talked about what happened to them on April 24, 1915. It was indeed a great trip and I’m very grateful that I was able to go one more time before I leave the school.

Our Trip to the U.N.

Friday, December 9, 2016, was the day we visited the United Nations. We went for the remembrance of the Genocide. This is the second year they ahve recognized this day. It is also the second time Hovnanian School has attended the meeting. The 5th through 8th grade students were the lucky classes to attend, also accompanied by their teachers. We went to learn about the dignity of the victims of genocide and preventing it. We listened, observed, and understood. We listened to the survivors and about the events that occurred. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. Thank you, Hovnanian School!
